Syzygy, a Melbourne duo formed by Rebecca Maher and Gus Kenny, both former members of the beloved synth-punk band Spotting. This new project explores a purer electronic aesthetic combined with a cheeky pop sensibility. It’s high-octane and fantastically enjoyable.

Recall that last July they premiered «Justice or Mercy», the first single from their forthcoming and eagerly awaited debut album and this time they release «Anchor and Adjust», the second single and apparently the title track from the SYZYGY duo’s forthcoming debut album. It’s a song about power, the difference between perception and truth and the control of the information.

It draws on the theory of cognitive bias and the idea that once an anchor of belief is established, all subsequent understanding is tied to that initial belief, rightly or wrongly.

Their debut album is due out later this year via It Records.
